Lessons in public school of Ternopil

The end of another semester in schools of our city is approaching. Therefore, it is a good time to write about some of the results, to analyze the work that was done, to thank God for the opportunity to serve students over the period September through December of 2017.

During this time staff and volunteers of Success Center held 34 lessons for the 6-11th grades students in six public schools of Ternopil. There were more than 800 students, teaches, social workers  and school psychologists at the lessons.

Lessons of the subjects of: Character as foundation for successful life, How to build relationships with with parents, True love awaits, My future. The choice of future occupation, Teen age, Risky behavior. Reasons and consequence, Youth Subcultures, Art of Communication, Criminal Juvenile Custody, What Do You Know About HIV / AIDS? According to the programs of “Restoration” and “Life Skills”.

All of the subjects are based on biblical principles of building relationships, planning of a future, forming a highly moral character for a successful life.

The leadership of many schools fully shares our desire to bring changes in the world and teenagers’ lives. It allowed us to help School of Life course for high school students of four schools.  This course consist of four lessons:

  • Character as foundation for successful life
  • How to get along with parents
  • Premarital sexual relationships
  • My future. Career choices.

At every lesson teenagers get an alternative to the world-view commonly accepted in modern society. Each time our teachers give encouragement and motivation to the students. It helps them to believe in themselves and receive hope for a happy, successful life.

The acquired knowledge and practical skills form a reliable character in students, which allows us to lay a solid foundation for independent living.

We are thankful to God for the opportunity to bring His love to young generation and share with the adolescents the principles of God’s Kingdom.

The celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the Christian Training Center Success

The celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the Christian Training Center Success was held in Ternopil on November 9 through 11 of 2017. The celebration was full of different events, greetings, impressions, challenges and thanksgiving to God for his unlimited love and grace.

As part of the celebration there was held a conference of the topic of “Christian influence upon every sphere of life”. The message to every participant was “You are the salt of the Earth… you are the light of the world” to remind one more time about our responsibility to be representative of the Kingdom of God on the Earth.

The conference was opened by the word from Success Center director Ivan Papish. His words were from the topic of influence. Here are some things that he talked about:

“The unseen battle rages for dominion over God’s creation and the soles of people. This battle is fought in different strategic spheres of life. When Christians lose their influence we lose our culture and when we lose our culture We fail to advance the kingdom of God. It’s time to fight for them and take back this mountains of influence.”

We have invited speakers, who are the experts in one of the spheres, to talk about seven spheres. They shared their personal experience of success and their results and about how they influenced in their spheres through practical tools that they used.

Here are the topics and speaker of every sphere that was presenter.

  • In the sphere of business (the speaker was Patrice Tsague, Chief Servant Officer of Nehemiah Project International Ministries);
  • In the sphere of media (the speaker was Vitaliy Stebenev, vice-president of Emmanuel Charity Association, Kyiv);
  • In the sphere of arts and entertainment (the speaker was Natalia Zhukovska, the director of drama-concert department of Orphans Promise, CBN, Emmanuel Charity Association, Kyiv)
  • In the sphere of religion (the speaker was Vitaliy Yatsuk, senior pastor of Ternopil region of Pentecostal Church)
  • In the sphere of education (the speaker was Petro Selskiy, the Dean of international students, the Professor and doctor of Ternopil Medical University and a pastor at Hosanna church, Zbarazh city)
  • In the sphere of government (the speaker was Roman Polikrovsky, the mayor of the city of Zbarazh).
  • In the sphere of family (the speaker was Adrian Bukovinsky, Doctor of Philosophy, Associate Professor, Head of the Expert Group on Family Policy at the Interfractionary Parliamentary Union of Ukraine “For the Spirituality, Morality and Health of Ukraine”, Kyiv)

 All of the topics very inspiring and timely. They have inspired all of the participants to take the challenge and start influence on the society around them.

The Celebration was followed by Business Plan competition, which was held on November 11th. At the competition, graduates of the Biblical Entrepreneurship course presented their plans to a team of US judges. The competition was intense and interesting, because each participant professionally and qualitatively presented his own business plan, which is based on biblical principles.

The winner of the competition was Andriy Solodovnik from the city of Zbarazh (Ternopil region) with the business plan “All Wooden biz.” We sincerely congratulate Andriy and wish God’s blessing in the development of his business!

First 10 years of ministry for the glory of God is behind. There are new tasks, challenges and hopes ahead of us.

We truly thankful to God for the unique opportunity to realize Centers projects, to minister to children and adults for the past 10 years! We truly thankful to all workers and volunteers of the Center, to people and organizations who made their great contribution into the work of the Center.

The team of the Ternopil Training Center held a day children’s camp in the sanatorium in Kremenets in June 12 – 16 of 2017. There were different groups of children: orphans, children from boarding schools, children from low-income families. During the camp children listened to the lessons from the Bible, they learned about Daniel, Paul and others. They learned about how to work on their character in various situations and trials.

Children were active in sport, games and competitions. One game come to mind it is called Life in 1 hour where children had to live the main events of life: go to school, university, go to work and among all of that routine find time for God. Also children liked crafts a lot. For that reason, we held an art therapy for them (they would listen to the fairytale Whiteshow and then they would have to paint figures made of clay). One other thing that children liked a lot was the Superbook cartoon. Children with great anticipation waited for evening to learn about the new adventures of Gizmo though the Bible. After the lesson children made decisions and we hope that they will fulfill them in life one day.

The workers of the sanatorium are extremely happy for the cooperation and the volunteers are excited about the results. Because they were able to observe the changes in children’s behavior and their character. You could see how in the beginning of the cam children were not organized and by the end we could how they worked in teams and how they cared for each other. God blessed the camp in amazing way and we know that this work was not in vain and we will see great results in the future.

Ternopil Training Center held a day camp called “Hearts reformation” in its premises. The goal of the program was to work on children’s character to improve it and to be reformed for better.

The staff of the Center and volunteers held Bible lessons where they talked about Trials of Faith, Say “No” to Envy and Gossips, The Change of Character, Second Chance for Those Who Loves, You are Special, etc. It was truly amazing to see how children’s hearts changed. During Bible lessons children asked interesting questions and retold whole stories from the Bible. General camp games and sport competitions were directed to help camp participants to practice truth that they’ve learned over the course of Bible lesson.

As part of the program there also was crafts, English lessons and Journalistic lessons. Children watched Superbook cartoon with great excitement and made some interesting conclusions after.

We thank God and our partners for the opportunity to hold these event and we believe that the seed that was planted into these small hearts will bring fruit in the future.

 

“On the threshold of independent life” program  

On May 13-14 of 2017 the team of Christian Training Center held a training on topic of “The culture of relationships. Family values” which is a part of the “On the threshold of independent life” program. For the last three years we are conducting such trainings in partnership with Charitable Fund “Orphans Future”.

The participants of the training are orphans, graduates of the orphanages and boarding schools of Ternopil region.

The trainers of the Center talked with children about behavior, how to better relationships with older people, about love that awaits, about reproductive health of young people and how to build a strong family.

Using interactive games, team tasks, video clips and other children learned practical ways to improve their character and prepare for independent living. During every part of the training the team of the Center were able to show alternative approach to relationships which are based on Biblical Principles and life examples.  

We believe that when we invest Biblical principles for relationships into the lives of young people we are able to prepare them for the challenges of today and help them to be in the will of God for their life.

Easter children celebrations 

The Christ is reason! He is reason indeed! This Easter greeting sounded in Ternopil Training Center once more in April of 2017.

During the whole week there were Easter celebration meetings for children of different age groups. It was for children that come to our Center for English, life skills and computer lessons over the year. Parents, caregivers came along with their children to support them.

The main subject of all the songs, poems and dramas was Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Children of the oldest group prepared the drama about Reformation, where they showed the importance of personal prayer and meditation on the Word of God that brings changes in people’s minds and builds Christian character.

In the end of the meeting all of the children received presents!

We believe the strong foundation of Christian principles for life that we lay down into the lives of children will become a key to a happy life for the glory of God!

Business by the Bible training in Bucha

In the begging of April of 2017 the team of the Christian Training Center Success held a Business by the Bible in Bucha, Kyiv region.

In the first part of the seminar called Principles of Successful Entrepreneurship teachers laid a foundation of Biblical understanding of business, main point of business management and stewardship and Biblical understanding of profit.

In the second part Practices for Entrepreneurship Nowadays more than 20 participants received new understanding about finding their business idea, calculating the costs for startup and business stewardship, they learned about marketing and sales and implementation of Biblical management.

Participants received answers for the questions: How do we hold a market research and how do we satisfy the need of our clients? What do we need to know about business registration and how organize a business? What are the sources for business financing? And other questions.

In third part Business Planning every participant was able to form a sketch of their business plan using the templates for their own business and they were able to present some parts of it.

In November of 2017 there will be Ukrainian National Business plan competition in Ternopil where all of the participants will be able to present their business plans and to fight for the right to present at the International business plan competition in 2018 in USA.

We would like to wish all of the competitors inspiration in writing and presenting of the their successful business plans!

“Life in Our Hands” lessons

In February of 2017 the team of Ternopil Training Center have started development lessons using Life in Our Hands for preschoolers and children from elementary school.

Life in Our Hands is a program that is designed to solve the main problems of efficient, comprehensive child development such as:

  • balanced development of both sides of the brain of the child;
  • the training of child’s intellect;
  • the studies of foreign languages;
  • a development of logical and critical thinking;
  • preschool child development: intellectual, emotional and psychological adaptation of the child before school.

Beforehand the teachers of the Center took the training on how to prepare and teach the lesson. We would like to thank our teachers for teaching and show us practical lessons of how to held the lessons for children. We also would like to thank Orphans promise for providing the needed recourses for these lessons to happen.

The first lessons on changing seasons from the geography chapter was held by our volunteer-teacher Ruslan Semenchuk (he has a degree as a teacher of geography).

Children were very active during the course of the lesson and were excited about new technologies and the ability to use interactive pen and take part in the experiments that were part of the lesson.

Some parts of the lesson were demonstrated to children of middle school pupils so they had opportunity to remind themselves the topic that they have heard before in the school.

All of the children are excited about the new program. Especially would like to mention Kuzma, one of the preschoolers, who was almost never active before this lesson. Today we could the other side of him. The boy raised his hand, participated in discussions with interest and excitement.

We believe that Life in Our Hands lessons will help many children to open themselves and will help the succeed in school and will help them to be prepared for independent living.

December a time for Christmas and New Year!

 

December a time for Christmas and New Year!

So many children and adults around the world are looking forward for a miracle in this period of time. For our team the true miracle is that we are able to serve children and teenagers by giving them something most valuable the love and care of God.

December was filled with great excitement, joy and thanks giving. And all of that is because we can see many smiling and happy faces because they are loved and cared for.

In December we held several Christmas celebrations for children, their parents and care givers.

In Ternopil city orphanage there was a celebration on December 12. All of the children are gladly received the instruction and wishes of our teachers. They have shared about their thanks giving to God for His blessings during the past year. They played games and received gifts. We are assured one more time that most important thing for those children is consistency and true care from those who come to see them. We thank God that during eight years we can bring light where there is a great need for it.

As a continuation of the celebration there were the final lessons of English, computers and “Life skills”. On Christmas Fair, held on December 12 to 16 at the Ternopil Training Center children had an opportunity to exchange for gifts earned during the semester “fairytale dollars”. This has brought them much joy and great emotion.

The highlight of the December Miracles was two celebrations in the Ternopil Training Center.

On December 20th preschoolers, students of 1-2  grades and their parents and caregivers gathered together to celebrate. Children prepared festive program, read poems, sang Christmas songs, showed theatrical sketches and they did all in English. We thank God that we can observe how each class of our students are changing their attitude for better and form a reliable character.

On December 22 the older groups of children celebrated Christmas. This meeting was unique because the young people made a performance of two big holiday, Thanksgiving and Christmas combined into one magnificent act. The children led the entire celebration, telling the origin of Thanksgiving, the Pilgrims first thank the Indians for their gifts, and of how grateful we are for God’s most precious gift – the birth and life of God’s Son, Jesus Christ.

All of the children had a great time and many positive emotions and received Christmas gifts.

We would like to thank God and all of you who support and pray for our ministry. Together with we are able to form a new generation for the Glory of God investing Biblical Principles into the young hearts.

“I and the team” training for the student parliament of the city. 

It is almost two years since Ternopil Training Center started cooperation with City pupil’s council called “Inspiration”. This is a group of active and creative young people that have goal to bring positive changes into the school proses of the public schools of Ternopil.

Together with this council we held two photo quests “Objective creativity” for the 20 public schools of Ternopil. Every event was held on a professional level and all of the participants and organized remained very happy and were very excited about future opportunities for mutual work.

On November 23 of 2016 answering to the request of the leadership of the “Inspiration” council the team of the Success Center held a training “I and a Team” for the leadership team of the council. More than 30 participants took part in the event. During the training they were able to learn about the importance to form and develop high moral character and to have right attitude towards life, they also improved skills of team work and learned how to make impotent decisions when they face conflicts.

After the training we’ve talked about the future plans for cooperation in the desire of reforming of the young generation of our city.
